Irancy

Pinot Noir

You will find that men and villages are often like the wines they produce. Irancy is a small village in Northern Burgundy surrounded by slopes covered with vines and cherry trees. It's fairly easy to find a direct link between this topographic analysis and the seductive shades you will find in the Irancy wines made by the Domaine Verret.

With smoky aromas of the terroir, the first whiffs evolve to a fruity redcurrant and cherry expression. With time a jammier side will appear bringing more roundness to the wine. On the palate it's a question of subtlety where the fruity side and the terroir express themselves with discretion and elegance.

Very well balanced, this wine has a real potential for accompanying convivial moments such as a barbecue with friends. For a greedy moment you can try to pair it with lamb chops or grilled sausages. As winter comes braised beef would be a perfect match.
